This workshop was to instruct complete beginners how to paint a set of Russian dolls.
The workshop was 3 hours per day and lasted 3 days.
The aim for each person was to create an original design and finish painting one set of 3 Russian dolls over the course of the workshop.
First of all we asked them to design their dolls with coloured pencils on paper.
After they had decided on the design, they started to paint on the dolls.
Most people finished painting their dolls by the end of the workshop.
Sometimes they struggled to paint because it is totally different from 2D art works.
We advised them if they had a problem and sometimes we painted some of the dolls for them.
Everyone that attended, really enjoyed the workshop and said they would like to paint another set.
