Both of them love “Marilyn Diptych (painted by Andy Warhol)” Their wedding board was to pay homage to this picture.
Also they wanted me to make the design as simple and modern as possible, so I used the strong black font on a white back ground.
A welcome board for used at the wedding is very popular in Japan. Bride and Groom use it for their wedding party as a sign outside at the wedding venue. The guests usually have the photograph taken in front of the sign.
After the party the couple normaly keep it as memento of the day and some people hang it on the wall in their house.
Most couple ask me to draw something thay really love (animals, flowers..), something relating to their job or hobby or specific seasons. (cherry blossom, snow … )
