They said it was Aesthetics.
Adults said mods culture was folly.
Everyone says it is new life style.
There were youths who used to be called “MODS”.

The theme of the book is “Looking at the MODS culture and available opportunities for young people.”

This book is composed of 3 sections “1955-1964 Original Mods culture”, “19 Neo Mods culture” and “Mods culture in present time” with illustrations, photographs and text pages.

“young generation” is a word which is used in a negative way in any countries and any era.
But a culture revolution broke out by young generation in the 60’s in London.
It was called “Swinging London”. The culture revolution proved that young people can change the world without weapons, and it effected the youth all over the world.

Normal and abnormal, winners and losers… even now common sense makes young people feel upset.
I made this book to show that perhaps Mods’s and the young generation’s life style in the 60’s can be a hint to youth of today.

I wrote about mods and what was happened to young generations in London and all over the world in each year.

1 year is one picture page as well as a text page.
On the left side of the text page, I drew someone’s room. I didn’t draw any characters but the objects in the room change year by year.

I wanted people to imagine “a mod” living in the room and how his personal belongings and clothes changed over the years as a result of the changing youth culture at the time.
